Last updated: February 18, 2026

FireBackup LLC ("FireBackup," "we," "us," or "our") operates the FireBackup online backup service. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

We believe in straightforward privacy practices. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, login credentials, and billing information necessary to process payments.

Backup data. When you use the FireBackup service, your files are transmitted to and stored on our servers. We store your backup data solely to provide the backup and restore service to you.

Usage and log data. We automatically collect information about how you interact with our service, including IP addresses, login times, backup session timestamps, data transfer volumes, and client software version. This information is used for security monitoring, troubleshooting, and service improvement.

Payment information. Payments are processed through PayPal. We do not store your credit card numbers or PayPal account credentials on our servers. Please refer to PayPal's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle your payment data.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the backup service
  • Process payments and manage your account
  • Send service-related communications (e.g., backup failure alerts, account notices)
  • Monitor for security threats and unauthorized access
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the backup service.

3. How We Protect Your Data

All data transmitted between your devices and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL. Backup data is encrypted at rest on our servers.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Retention

We retain your backup data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, your backup data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of cancellation. Account records (name, email, login history) may be retained for up to 90 days after cancellation for legal and auditing purposes.

If your account is suspended due to non-payment, we will retain your data for a 30-day grace period before deletion.

5. Information We Share

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. We share payment information with PayPal to process transactions. We do not share your backup data with any third party.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental regulation.
  • Safety and security. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of FireBackup, our users, or the public.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may access, update, or delete your account information at any time through the FireBackup web interface. You may request a complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, port, and erase your personal data, and the right to restrict or object to processing.
